Who is responsible
The personal information collected through this website is handled by the operator of the venue, named on the About page and in the footer. The operator decides how the details are used and answers for their safekeeping. In daily practice the host's desk at Poynton Street keeps the reservation book and reads the incoming e-mail.
Whom to contact about your data
Questions about personal information may be sent to the reservations address in the footer or put by telephone to the front desk. Please state the name and date of your booking so that the entry can be found quickly. A reply is normally given within a few working days, and in writing if you ask for it.
What the forms collect
The reservation form asks for your name, e-mail address, the evening and time you prefer, the number of guests and, if you wish, a note about allergies or an occasion. Nothing else is requested. The form does not accept payment details, and it does not require a telephone number unless you offer one.
Why it is collected
Your details are used to confirm a table or a seat, to prepare the kitchen for any allergy you mention and to reach you if the arrangements change. They are not used for advertising, for profiling or for any purpose unrelated to the evening you have asked us to arrange.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. We will respond within a reasonable time and without charge. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which oversees the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and browser storage
The site stores two small items in your browser, one recording your age confirmation and one recording your cookie choice. They are described, with their names and lifetimes, on the page called How we use cookies, and they never contain your name or your reservation.
Younger visitors
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen, and we ask parents who find that a child has sent a reservation to write to us so that the entry can be removed. Younger guests may dine with an adult, but must not use the booking form.
Security
The reservation book is kept at the host's desk and is not removed from the building. Messages are held in a password-protected inbox, and access is limited to the host and the floor manager. We take reasonable steps to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we delete entries when they are no longer needed.
Changes to this page
From time to time we may amend this page, for example when we change how bookings are taken. The current version is always the one on the website, and a significant change will be announced at the host's desk. Nothing will be done with your details that this page does not describe.
