How we use cookies

Two small items in your browser and nothing more unless you agree. This page names them, explains them and tells you how to remove them.

The basics

Which kinds of cookie does this site use?

A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to keep, and browsers hold similar items in local storage. This site uses only two of them, both of the kind the site needs to behave sensibly: one remembers that you have confirmed you are eighteen or over, and the other remembers whether you have answered the cookie notice.

Neither item identifies you, and neither is shared with anyone. The site prepares for consent in the standard way, with every optional category refused by default. Unless you press the accept button in the notice, nothing that measures or tracks your visit is loaded, and the site works in exactly the same way either way.

If you accept, the notice records your choice in the second item below and the optional categories are allowed. If you decline, or ignore it, they remain refused. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the stored items, after which the notice appears again at your next visit.

Choices

Tags, the map and your control

Analytics tags

The site is built to work with measurement tags, but their default state is off. A tag that counts visits or records interests does not run until you accept the cookie notice, and the wording of the notice says so. At present we use the tags only to see which pages are read, and we do not combine them with any personal information.

The embedded map

The map on the Map and parking page loads straight away from a third-party provider, before any choice is made. That provider may set its own cookies when the map appears, and we have no control over them. If you would rather not receive them, skip that page or block third-party cookies in your browser; the street address is printed beside the map.

Managing your consent

You may remove the stored items at any time through your browser's settings, which also lets you block cookies from particular sites or from all sites. Private windows forget everything when they are closed, so the age question and the notice return each time. Nothing you do affects your reservation.
